Rodel convenes community leaders for important conversation

October 7, 2019        Rodel hosted the first of what they hope will be a series of ongoing conversations about the important issue of “High School Innovation and Postsecondary Readiness.”  The goal is to explore innovations in practice and policy necessary to prepare more students with the education they need to meet the demands of Arizona’s rapidly changing economy.

The conversation was led by former President of the Arizona Board of Regents, Eileen Klein, with panelists including Dr. Chad Gestson, Superintendent of Phoenix Union High School District, Dr. Sybil Francis, President & CEO of the Center for the Future of Arizona, Dr. Maria Harper-Marinick, Chancellor, Maricopa County Community Colleges, Mr. Chris Camacho, President & CEO of Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Mr. Jim Rounds, President of Rounds Consulting Group.  Mr. Rounds began the discussion with a presentation titled, “Education Investment & Growing the Economy” which provided data about the value to the economy of a higher skill level which produces wage growth, job growth and an increase in business recruitment.
